St Ternan’s Scottish Episcopal Church
Website published June 2010
St Ternan's is a small, friendly and very pretty Episcopal church in the village of Banchory, just west of Aberdeen, Scotland.
St Ternans asked me to design and develop a new website to allow them to highlight the church's busy calendar, friendly community spirit, and striking architecture, particularly the stunning stained glass.
I used photos of the church's stained glass taken by myself and members of the congregation as the site's unifying design element: a window reproducing Holman Hunt's 'Light of the World' serves as the background design element for the home page, and elements of some of the other windows are used for the masthead and footer regions on each of the other pages. The Childrens page uses the same basic layout, but with a somewhat more informal set of design elements...
I integrated the site with the ExpressionEngine content management system to make it easy for church's content editors to keep the news and events listings ticking over, and to update any other site content and imagery.
